We are heading into the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, which of course, is the Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. This is one of the four Cardinal Points in the year, and in a sense, each Cardinal Point is a new beginning for the season.
In astrology, every new beginning has its own chart. The chart for the Solstice shows the themes and the general astrological weather for the season.
The Cancer Ingress Chart
Compared to the last couple of Ingress charts, this one is a bit more stressful. Below are the articles for the last two Ingress charts.
Capricorn Ingress 2020 – A New Era
Aries Ingress 2021 – Opening Up Again
One of the first things to note about this chart is an opposition between Mars and Saturn in the Fixed Signs of Leo and Aquarius. The opposition is wide, seven degrees, but it is applying, or getting closer. Saturn is retrograde so both planets are moving towards the clash.
The Moon is squaring both of these planets from Scorpio, separating from a square with Mars and moving into a square with Saturn. These are all Traditional Planets, so there is no avoiding their influence.
Uranus is sitting in Taurus. The Moon is moving into an opposition with Uranus, and Mars is moving into a square. Saturn is backing away from a square.
All of this is happening in Fixed Signs. Fixed Signs are not volatile by nature, but they do not like to move or change. When they rub up against one another, the situation become intractable because they will not compromise or bend.
On the world stage, we are likely to see opposing sides in a stand off with one another.
On a more positive note, the Sun and Jupiter are applying to a nice trine with one another, with Jupiter in her own sign. She is also exalted in Cancer, the sign that the Sun is in. This should give some hope and optimism in spite of the tension.
The Moon is still within orb of a trine with both of these planets, but is moving away from that trine and is firmly entrenched in the difficult situation described above. Still, the trines strengthened her, so she is in a better shape to handle what she is facing now.
Mercury is still retrograde, and Jupiter is making a station to turn retrograde. Soon Jupiter will be returning to Aquarius for awhile.
Conclusion and recommendations
This looks to be a rather difficult season. It will not be as tough as anything that we faced in 2020 or the years preceding it, but there will be more struggles than there have been in recent months.
What we are likely to see is a collective resistance to change in world affairs as well as in our communities. Some people will also be impacted by this on a personal level.
This is not the time to make major changes. Instead, think about the things that you want to hold on to and treasure. It is also not the time to try to look for changes in anyone else. Accept people and situations as they are and learn to appreciate them.
If you are able to do that, this season will be far less frustrating.
