We are just coming out of an intense month. We will be leaving October with Venus still retrograde but in her own sign of Libra. Even though the Sun is still in Scorpio, we should start to feel things lightening from the very beginning of the month.
The big news of this month is that Jupiter will be returning to her own sign of Sagittarius for the first time in about twelve years. This should be a big relief, and it will bring sorely needed optimism and hope. Jupiter will stay in Sagittarius for about a year, which will be quite nice, especially for those with the Fire Signs, Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius prominent in their charts.
Let’s take a more detailed look at the transits of November 2018.
November 1 to November 6 – The Air Gets Lighter
While we are still under the heavy Full Moon of October 24, both Mercury and Venus have moved out of Scorpio. Mercury has moved on to Sagittarius, and Venus has gone back to Libra. The 3rd Quarter Moon has just begun, so this is a time of rest and relaxation. The one thing to be careful of is that Mercury is in detriment in Sagittarius, so people could be prone to carelessness and speaking without thinking. Other than that, this period should be a much-needed break from the previous intensity.
November 5
For a few hours, the Moon will transfer her light between Mars and Venus, who are moving into a harmonious trine with each other in Air. This will give the opportunity for conversation and perhaps some healing from the difficulties from last month.
November 6
Uranus goes back into Aries. This is likely to be a volatile day in the news, which is not surprising as it will be Election Day in the United States. It will be influencing both Mars and Venus so there may be some impact on personal relationships; however, the impact will not be nearly as volatile as it has been in recent months and years. The main thing is to let politics be politics and to continue on with your regular life.
November 7 to November 21 – Jupiter enters Sagittarius!
The New Moon of November 7, 2018 will be relatively calm compared to recent lunations. It is right in the middle of the Fixed Sign, Scorpio, so even though New Moons usually mark beginnings, the theme of this one will be about creating structures and stability. Venus, though retrograde, is quite strong in Libra, and she is moving into a trine with Mars. Uranus is still causing trouble in Aries and is opposing Venus and sextile Mars.
World events will continue to be problematic, but for the first time in a while, there is real hope for at least some reconciliation, particularly around gender issues.
Jupiter is still in Scorpio, but she is in the very last degree of this sign. She will be moving into Sagittarius very soon!
November 8
Jupiter enters Sagittarius! This is a really happy and exciting transit. Jupiter is the Greater Benefic, so her being in her own sign again will bring optimism and good fortune all around. This will also mean that for the next year or so, Jupiter’s day, Thursday, will tend to be a favorable and auspicious day for most ventures. The Moon will also move into Sagittarius at around the same time, which will add emphasis to this transit. This should be a very good day!
November 9
The celebratory mood of yesterday will continue with the trine between Venus and Mars becoming exact. This will be another good day, and this would be a lovely Friday night to plan a date with your significant other.
November 16
Mars will finally leave Aquarius and move on to Pisces. This will be a huge relief to those with Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius prominent in their charts. Things will finally begin to settle down again for these signs. Mars has some dignity in Pisces, so her energy will be more productive. The one difficulty will be that she will be moving into a square with Jupiter. This will produce some tension, but compared to recent months, this will not feel bad at all.
Venus will also turn around and start going direct today. This should be another very nice day!
November 17
Unfortunately, this string of lovely days cannot last. Mercury will turn around and go retrograde. Mercury retrogrades have a rather bad reputation, but there are many transits and astrological configurations that are far worse. Still, you want to be careful of office mishaps and miscommunications. Mercury is debilitated in Sagittarius which will add to the difficulties. Furthermore, Mercury will be square Neptune. Problems will come about through carelessness and overoptimism. Doublecheck all of your work, and be prepared to redo things during this time.
November 19-20
The square between Mars and Jupiter will be exact. This will produce some mild tension, particularly for those with planets in the early Mutable Signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces. It should not be too bad though, and whatever it is that happens will pass very quickly.
November 22 through November 30 – Time to Celebrate
The Full Moon of November 22 will also mark the Sun’s entry into Sagittarius, joining Jupiter and Mercury there. With Mercury still retrograde and debilitated in Sagittarius, it might be hard to get work done so it would be a good time for a vacation or to plan some fun activities. This has been a difficult, intense year so many of us could use some time to enjoy ourselves.
November 25
The Sun will conjunct Jupiter in Sagittarius. This will be a particularly lucky day, especially for those with planets in the early degrees of the Fire Signs, Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius.
November 26
Mercury will square Mars, and this will be intensified by the Sun and Jupiter close by. There could be some tension and disagreement, particularly over religion. Many people, especially those who have planets in early Mutable Signs, Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces, may experience feeling more scattered than usual. Some people may be accident prone due to carelessness as well.
November 27
Mercury will conjunct the Sun and then Jupiter on this day, and the Moon will trine all three from Leo. This could result in unexpected good fortune, particularly for those with planets in early Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius.
After this, the rest of the month will be largely uneventful from an astrological perspective.
