March’s Mercury retrograde ended on March 28, 2019, but April will have several retrogrades of its own. Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto will all turn around and start moving backward. Despite this, April will be a bit livelier than the last couple of months have been, especially on a personal level. Most people will feel more energetic, and the fogginess that has pervaded the air will slowly dissipate as the month goes by. It will begin to get easier to get things accomplished.
April 1 to April 4 – The Clouds Begin to Fade
As has been the case for several months now, we will begin April in a 3rd Quarter Lunar Phase. In general, this is a time for wrapping things up rather than for beginning anything new. On the other hand, there will be a general feeling of restlessness with the Sun in Aries and Mars having just left Taurus for Gemini. Also, Mercury has recently gone direct and is slowly starting to build up steam.
The best use of this energy is to do something that you have been putting off and that you want to be done with quickly. In the U.S., this will be a good time to do your taxes if you have not done them already.
The 3rd Quarter Moon Phase is the best time to file your taxes in general. This is because things that are done during this phase tend to be over and done with quickly. Additionally, there will be a barrage of transits for several days before April 15. This may lead to an onslaught of minor crises, which will make it hard to sit down and work on your taxes.
April 2
Mercury will conjunct Neptune exactly. Because of the recent Mercury Retrograde, this will be the third time that this transit has hit. The first time was on February 19 and the second time was on March 24. This transit tends to indicate confusion and deception. When an aspect hits three times, the third time usually represents the conclusion of the matter. This means that whatever had been hidden or unclear will probably come to light and will be able to be resolved.
Still, if you are taking advantage of the 3rd Quarter Moon Phase to file your taxes, it is best to avoid filing on this day. If you must file on this day, make sure to double and triple check your return for mistakes.
April 5 to April 18 – Three Steps Forward, Two Steps Back
The Aries New Moon will bring an impulse to forge ahead, but that impulse will be impeded by a square from Saturn. This period will be a time of action and frustration. While you will have the desire to begin new projects, it will seem like there are obstacles at every turn. These obstacles will be surmountable, but it will take time and patience. It will be best to move forward slowly and cautiously, leaving plenty of time to accomplish your goals. This is not a good time to leave things for the last minute.
Mercury and Venus are right next to Neptune in Pisces, which means that there may still be some leftover cloudiness in the air.
April 7
Mercury will form a sextile with Saturn on this day. This will serve to further clear up any confusion left over from the past couple of months and will provide a good hard dose of reality.
April 9 & 10
These couple of days will be very busy with respect to transits. First, on the 9th, Mercury will trine the North Node and sextile the South Node. By itself, this would not be a memorable transit. On April 10, however, Jupiter will go retrograde, Venus will conjunct Pluto, and the Sun will square Saturn…all on the same day!
This could be a difficult time for relationships and be careful of deception. When there are this many transits happening at once, there tend to be a lot of crises all at the same time. For this reason, try to leave April 10 as free as possible of tasks that absolutely have to get done. Expect to spend the day metaphorically putting out fires.
April 11 to April 13
The transit barrage will keep coming over these next few days. On April 11, Mercury will square Jupiter. Then, on April 12, Venus will sextile Saturn, and the Sun will square the Nodes. On the following day, April 13, Venus will trine the North Node, and the Sun will square Pluto.
Because this is all part of the same transit avalanche that started on April 10, it is impossible to analyze each of these transits individually. Some of them are positive and some of them are stressful, but the sheer number of them will make these days hectic. Whether you are impacted by them or not, it is highly likely that people you interact with will be. Have a cup of tea and try to stay as calm as you can. This way you can field whatever is thrown at you.
April 14 & 15
The transit storm will begin to lighten up. There will still be activity, but this activity will be mostly harmonious. Venus will sextile Pluto and the Sun will trine Jupiter on April 14. This indicates that the end result from all of the chaos of the past several days will be positive. If you can, this would be a good day to take a break. If you live in the U.S., and you waited until the last minute to do your taxes, you may be able to finally get the chance to work on them on this day.
On April 15, Venus will square Jupiter. Technically, this is a tense aspect, but it involves the two benefics and Jupiter is the dispositor of Venus. Also, both Jupiter and Venus are well-dignified. At most, there will be some minor annoyances. Otherwise, this should be a good day.
April 17
Mercury will finally leave Pisces and will enter Aries. This will certainly be an improvement, and the fogginess of Mercury in Pisces will finally be finished. On the other hand, Mercury is still not great in Aries. In Aries, Mercury tends to be a little too forceful and impulsive. There may be a tendency to be overly aggressive during this time. Take extra care to say please and thank you and to choose your battles.
April 19 to April 30 – Last Minute Details
The Full Moon of April 19, 2019, will take place with the Moon at 29° Libra and the Sun at 29° Aries. The last degree of a sign is always a bit frantic, particularly the last degree of one of the Cardinal Signs. There is a sense that one needs to get something finished before it is too late. Because this is occurring at the Full Moon, it will put its stamp on the next couple of weeks.
April 20
The Sun will enter Taurus today, and Venus will enter Aries. Venus is not well-placed in Aries, and she can get rather combative in this sign. When Venus is in Aries, you may be tempted to pick needless fights with those that you love.
April 22
On April 22, the Sun will conjunct Uranus. This transit will only last a day, but it could be a difficult one. Avoid the temptation to be overly independent. We all need people, and even if they annoy us, it is best not to burn bridges unless you absolutely have to.
April 24
Just as Jupiter went retrograde earlier this month, Pluto will go retrograde on this day. While I generally do not pay a lot of attention to the retrograde cycles of the Outer Planets, this one has the potential to be a bit more dramatic.
In January of 2020, Saturn and Pluto will come together in Capricorn. This has the potential to be quite difficult on the world stage. Even though this aspect will not come until January of 2020, it will almost happen within the next couple of days. Saturn has been sneaking up on Pluto for some time, and now Pluto is turning around to meet her.
In these next few days, we are likely to see a foreshadowing of what will happen in January. For the most part, this transit will manifest in larger world events rather than on a personal level. On the other hand, people with planets and chart points between 20° and 23° Capricorn may experience disruption on a personal level. Those with planets and chart points in these same degrees of Aries, Cancer, and Libra may be impacted as well.
April 27
Mars will square Neptune on April 27. If there has been deception in the recent past, this day could bring confrontation about this deception. This will probably manifest on the world stage, but those with planets in the middle degrees of the Mutable Signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces may be impacted on a personal level.
April 29
The last major transit of this month will be Saturn going retrograde. A few days ago, Pluto turned around and started moving towards Saturn. The meeting between these planets may have happened shortly, but Saturn is now moving away from it. Whatever was going to happen will have to wait until January.
