Transits of November 2019 – The Calm Before the Storm

2020 will be a transformative year, and the changes will begin in December of 2019.

For a description of the coming changes, you may want to read the article about the Libra Ingress of 2019.

Like October, however, November of 2019 will be rather calm and ordinary. There are not many transits, and most of them are seasonal ones. If it were not for the coming astrological events, this month would be rather unremarkable.

Yet, because of the coming events, this month can be seen as the calm before the storm. This would be a good month to rest and prepare yourself for the changes ahead.

November 1 to November 11 – Turning Inward

We begin the month in a New Moon Phase which started on October 27. This New Moon had four planets in Scorpio. Scorpio is a sign that likes to plummet the depths. Furthermore, October 31 began a Mercury retrograde period, with Mercury in Scorpio.

While Mercury retrograde periods tend to be feared in modern times for their tendency to make communication more difficult, the operate a bit differently in each sign. The positive activities that are associated with Mercury retrogrades are contemplation and reflection. These are times to look back and rethink our lives and our goals and objectives. Scorpio is a sign that supports these activities.

Transits 11-1-2019

November 1

Venus will move into Sagittarius. This will brighten the mood somewhat. When Venus was in Scorpio, relationships were quite intense. When Venus is in Sagittarius, there will be a desire to have fun and enjoy each other’s company.

Unfortunately, however, the mood will be dampened a bit by the Moon being in Capricorn and crossing the South Node and Saturn, so you may not be able to really act on your desire to play until another couple of days have gone by.

November 3

The Sun will trine the North Node and sextile the South Node. Like most soft transits, this will go unnoticed by most people. Some may feel a sense of their destiny and place in the world, however.

November 4

Today will mark the First Quarter Moon. This is when the events that began with the New Moon will start to emerge and be visible to the outside world.

November 5

Mars will square Pluto today. This could be an explosive combination if you let it be. On the other hand, it can pass by unnoticed. The important thing to remember is to avoid letting yourself be consumed by dark thoughts.

If you are angry or upset about something, don’t do or say anything today if you can avoid it. Also, take care not to brood or allow grudges to fester. If you are still upset a week or so from now, there will always be time to deal with the problem then.

November 8

Today Saturn will sextile Neptune, and the Sun will sextile Saturn and trine Neptune. This is not a good time to start new business deals or contracts. You also might want to take most things with a grain of salt, particularly if they seem to be too good to be true.

If there is a real opportunity, it can wait until things are a little more clear.

November 11

In the Mercury cycle, there is always one day in which there is complete clarity. This is when Mercury comes within 17 minutes of the Sun, and it will happen is today. You will have an intuitive understanding of the things that you have been pondering.

This moment of clarity will be fleeting, however. You may want to take note of your insights so that you do not forget them later.

November 12 to November 25 – Cautiously Moving Outward

The Full Moon is on November 12. The Sun is, of course, still in Scorpio. Mercury is still retrograde and in Scorpio as well. The Moon is exalted in Taurus but is also void of course. The usual meaning for a Void of Course Moon is that “nothing will come of it,” but some traditional sources say that when the Moon is in Taurus, she can still be effective even if void of course.

Both the Moon and the Sun will be transferring their light from Saturn to Pluto, which may provide foreshadowing as to what will happen at the Saturn/Pluto conjunction that will happen in January of 2020.

Venus is in Sagittarius and is moving towards Jupiter. This will bring a desire to have some fun with friends and loved ones and lighten what would otherwise be a very heavy lunation chart.

Full Moon 11-12-2109

November 12

Mars will sextile Jupiter. This will provide energy and good fortune for today’s activities.

November 13 & 14

On November 13, Mercury will sextile Saturn and trine Neptune. The Sun will also sextile Pluto. The next day, Venus will square Neptune.

This could mean that secrets will come to light that will bring disillusionment, especially in the context of relationships.

November 19

This will mark the Third Quarter Moon, which is a time of winding down of activity. Mars will also go into Scorpio today.

This will be a very good time for housecleaning or any unpleasant task that you may have been putting off. The Third Quarter Moon phase is generally not a good time to begin new activities or projects that you want to last, but it is a perfect time to start things that you would like to have over and done with as quickly as possible.

November 20

Mercury will go direct, which will mark the end of the Mercury retrograde period. This is when you may have to go over and fix things that you did while Mercury was retrograde.

November 22

The Sun will enter Sagittarius. This will lighten the atmosphere even more.

November 24

There is good news and bad news today. The good news is that Venus will conjunct  Jupiter. With the two benefics coming together, this could be a very lucky day, especially for those with planets and important chart points in the late degrees of the Fire Signs, Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius.

The bad news is that Mars will oppose Uranus. People could be tempted to start fights that could burn bridges and disrupt important relationships. This is a special risk for those with planets or important chart points in the early degrees of the Fixed Signs, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. Watch your temper and hold your tongue.

November 25

Venus will move into Capricorn. This is a positive change for Venus as she has some dignity in this sign. This will be helpful for those who are preparing for the holidays by bringing a spirit of organization and practicality.

November 26 to November 30 – Forging Ahead

The New Moon of November 26 will be the last New Moon before the Solar Eclipse that will occur on December 26. There is a sense of urgency to this lunation chart. All of the traditional planets are within three houses of one another, which brings focus and direction to the chart.

The chart is led by Saturn in her own sign of Capricorn, and Mars is at the rear in her own sign of Scorpio. Jupiter is in the middle, and she is still in her own sign of Sagittarius. The fact that these three planets are in their own signs adds to the power of this chart.

Many things will come together at this time, and it will feel as if everyone is gathering their resources to prepare for the challenges ahead.

New Moon 11-26-2019

November 27

Neptune will go direct. It has been retrograde since June of 2019. Some people could revisit things that were cloudy and confusing over the past several months.

November 28

Venus will trine Uranus, and Mercury will trine Neptune. This will probably pass by most people unnoticed, but do be a bit more cautious than you would otherwise particularly in your interactions with others. Don’t be fooled or deceived by flattery.

November 30

Mercury will sextile Saturn. If you were tricked or deceived a couple of days ago when Mercury was trine Neptune, you will learn the truth today. Most people will be feeling level-headed and practical.
