Libra Ingress 2019

At the Autumn Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and the Spring Equinox in the South, the Sun enters the sign of Libra. The chart for the Sun’s ingress into Libra will have an impact on the entire season and will be in effect until the Solstice, or Capricorn Ingress.

Here is the Libra Ingress Chart for 2019:

Libra Ingress 2019

The most important thing to notice about this chart is the opposition between the Moon in Cancer and Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn on the nodes. Venus and Mercury form a T-Square to this opposition from Libra. Just days before, Saturn turned direct and it will finally be starting to move towards its conjunction with Pluto in January of 2020.

The theme of this chart is actually rather similar to the Cancer Ingress chart earlier this year. In the Cancer Ingress chart, however, the Moon was Void of Course, meaning she would not make any more aspects before changing signs. In this chart, the Moon is quite busy.

The Moon has just finished squaring Mercury. Directly prior to that, it formed an opposition with Saturn. Mercury, herself, just finished her own square with Saturn. The very next aspect that the Moon will make is an opposition with Pluto. In a sense, the Moon is transferring the light of Saturn and Mercury to Pluto, which will be the beginning of the changes that we will see as a result of the Saturn/Pluto conjunction of January 2020.

Coming World Changes

Normally, an Ingress chart only applies to the season that it begins. In this case, however, it is the start of something larger and longer-lasting because it is an early herald of the monumental changes that are to come.

Saturn/Pluto conjunction

There is a lot of debate about whether or not the Outer Planets, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto should be used in astrology and what they mean. I have formed my own theory that the Outers represent modern poisons and have the impact that we allow them. On the other hand society, particularly in the United States and Europe, has embraced the poisons that they stand for, and so they do impact the world arena.

For further information with respect to my interpretation of the Outer Planets, see:

Outer Planets – A Theory

The Outer Planets: the Pseudomythos of “Higher Octaves” and “Transcendence”

When we are dealing with Pluto, we are dealing with the most destructive of the poisons, which is deformation. This is the inversion of light and dark and right and wrong. This is the force of true ugliness and destruction. It is not a coincidence that the discovery of nuclear fission, which made the first atomic bomb possible, occurred in 1938, only 8 years after the discovery of Pluto.

Pluto is the most difficult and destructive of the Outer Planets, and Saturn is the most difficult and destructive of the Traditional Planets. Saturn is the planet that governs time and is the true planet of transformation, as it represents the death that allows for a new birth. In Modern Astrology, this interpretation was stripped from Saturn and given to Pluto, but it truly does belong to Saturn.

So, what we are looking at is likely to be a form of destruction at the beginning of 2020 that will greatly change our view of national borders. This is not a cause for panic, however, and it will be necessary for the new birth that will happen with the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction later in the year.

We saw the first stirrings of what this would look like in April of this year when Saturn inched up to Pluto, but then quickly turned around when Pluto went retrograde. We are likely to see a repeat of what happened then, but this time, rather than fizzling out, it will slowly draw towards completion.

The Great Conjunction of 2020

There will be a Jupiter/Saturn conjunction at the end of 2020. These occur approximately every 20 years, and they were the traditional means of marking generations.

Below is the chart for the Great Conjunction of 2020:

Great Conjunction 2020 Chicago

I will talk in greater detail about this Great Conjunction later in future articles, but for the purposes of this article, the important thing to know is that it takes place in Aquarius, which is an Air Sign.

The Great Conjunctions follow a pattern, by which they fall in one element for about 180 years. This pattern is not perfect. At the beginning and end of this 180-year cycle, there are sometimes a few stray Conjunctions in the earlier or the later element, but aside from this, the cycle is quite predictable.

The conjunctions cycles follow the same elemental pattern as the signs of the zodiac, Fire, Earth, Air, and lastly Water.

We are currently in a cycle in which the Great Conjunctions occurred in Earth. The 2000 Great Conjunction occurred in the sign of Taurus. They have been occurring consistently in Earth since 1842. There was one of these conjunctions in Earth in 1802, but the 1821 Great Conjunction occurred in Fire.

The Great Conjunction of 2020 will start the pattern in which they consistently occur in Air. As at the beginning of the Earth cycle, there was a stray, early Great Conjunction in Air in 1980, but the Great Conjunction of 2000 was in Earth.

What we can expect to see is a complete change in the world. The last time that the Great Conjunctions consistently fell in Air was between about 1226 and 1345, with stray conjunctions in Air occurring as early as 1186 and as late as 1405. This marked the period in Europe that was known as the Late Middle Ages when the former social structures started to break down.

During the time period between 1980 and 2000, we saw a surge in technological development and innovation. We will see an even greater surge after 2020, which is likely to completely change the way society operates and further weaken the boundaries between nations.

It is likely that the purpose of the coming upheaval in 2020 will be to clear the way for these coming changes.

On a Personal Level

Although the Libra Ingress chart does mark the beginning of current world changes on a larger scale, on a personal level, it will have the greatest impact those with planets and important chart points in the Cardinal Signs of Aries, Libra, Cancer, and Capricorn.

The Moon/Saturn opposition is one of the more difficult aspects, and there may be many experiencing a low mood or even depression. If you live in the Northern Hemisphere and tend to experience seasonal depression, you may want to be prepared to treat it. This year could be worse than usual. There may also be a feeling of being pulled in many different directions.

On the other hand, most of the planets are well-dignified, including the Moon and Saturn, so it will likely be a productive season, and most people will experience it is relatively positive overall.
